Exceptional partner: the jewellery Maison Bulgari
Vicenza, November 2023 – Supporting emerging talents, encouraging creative thinking and the ability to integrate technological innovation and conscious design into jewellery creation: this is the mission of the new edition of the PROGOL3D Design Contest, promoted by Progold S.p.A.
Based in Trissino, in the province of Vicenza, Progold S.p.A. is a reference point in the development and manufacturing of alloys and master alloys for the jewellery industry, while also offering, through its Additive Manufacturing division, the production of precious metal semi-finished components, precious metal powders for additive manufacturing, and the transfer of know-how for the integration of L-PBF technology, reaffirming its commitment to innovation and to fostering creativity among new generations.
The PROGOL3D Design Contest is an international competition that each year brings together young talents from selected jewellery design schools worldwide. Created to promote creativity, innovation and experimentation in contemporary jewellery, the contest offers students a concrete opportunity to engage with advanced manufacturing technologies, gain visibility for their projects, and connect with leading luxury brands.
The official partner of the 2024 edition is Bulgari, one of the most iconic and internationally recognised jewellery Maisons, long synonymous with creative boldness, innovation and extraordinary craftsmanship.
The theme of this edition, "B.Evolution," is inspired by the industrial universe seen through Bulgari's eyes: an ode to the power of creativity that blends movement and innovation into a unique piece of artisanship. The selected metal for this edition is platinum, chosen for its aesthetic and technological qualities and its strong connection to Bulgari's identity.
The 2024 edition recorded notable participation, with 150 projects submitted by 74 students from 7 international higher education institutions, confirming the growing interest in the contest and in additive manufacturing applied to jewellery design.
The 9 finalists, selected from IED, GIC, EASD Valencia, Haute École de Joaillerie Paris, LAO Florence, HEAD Genève and Birmingham City University, will take centre stage during the Award Ceremony on Sunday, 21 January 2024, at the Teatro Palladio at Vicenzaoro.
During the ceremony, the winners of the two awards will be announced: the Audience Choice Award 2024, selected through online voting, and the Technical Jury Award 2024, assigned by a technical jury composed of experts from Progold, Bulgari and Platinum Guild International. The finalist creations will also be exhibited at the Progold S.p.A. stand – TGOLD Hall 9, Booth 221, throughout the fair.
Once again this year, Platinum Guild International, the organisation dedicated to promoting platinum jewellery and the development of advanced technologies in the sector, confirms its support for the contest, reinforcing the dialogue between technological innovation, know-how and education.
