Exceptional partner: the jewellery Maison Crivelli
Vicenza, November 2024 – Supporting emerging talents, encouraging creative thinking and the ability to integrate technological innovation and conscious design into jewellery creation: this is the mission of the new edition of the PROGOL3D Design Contest, promoted by Progold S.p.A.
Based in Trissino, in the province of Vicenza, Progold S.p.A. is a reference point in the development and manufacturing of alloys and master alloys for the jewellery industry, while also offering, through its Additive Manufacturing division, the production of precious metal semi-finished components, precious metal powders for additive manufacturing, and the transfer of know-how for the integration of L-PBF technology, reaffirming its commitment to innovation and to fostering creativity among new generations.
The PROGOL3D Design Contest is an international competition that each year brings together young talents from selected jewellery design schools worldwide. Created to promote creativity, innovation and experimentation in contemporary jewellery, the contest offers students a concrete opportunity to engage with advanced manufacturing technologies, gain visibility for their projects, and connect with leading luxury brands.
The official partner of the 2025 edition is Crivelli, the historic jewellery Maison founded in the 1970s in Valenza, at the heart of one of Italy's most prestigious goldsmithing districts. Renowned for its production ranging from limited-edition collections to unique, one-of-a-kind pieces of exceptional quality, Crivelli embodies the essence of jewellery in its most refined form, with a distinctive ability to reinterpret classic styles in innovative and sophisticated ways.
The theme of this edition, "The Crivelli Man: a Contemporary Interpretation," invites students to imagine and design a piece of men's jewellery that not only expresses contemporary masculinity but also reflects Crivelli's tradition and identity. The selected metals are platinum, polished or matte-finished, and sandblasted titanium, chosen for their aesthetic qualities and reduced environmental impact.
The 2025 edition recorded growing participation, with 180 projects submitted by 98 students from 9 international higher education institutions, confirming the sustained interest in the contest and in additive manufacturing applied to jewellery design.
The 10 finalists, selected from FIT State University of New York, IED Roma, IED Torino, JORGC Barcelona, RISD, Haute École de Joaillerie Paris, HEAD Genève, LAO Florence and GIC China, will take centre stage during the Award Ceremony on Sunday, 19 January 2025, at the Teatro Palladio at Vicenzaoro.
During the ceremony, the winners of the two awards will be announced: the Audience Choice Award 2025, selected through online voting, and the Technical Jury Award 2025, assigned by a technical jury composed of experts from Progold, Crivelli and Platinum Guild International. The finalist creations will also be exhibited at the Progold S.p.A. stand – TGOLD Hall 9, Booth 221, throughout the fair.
Once again this year, Platinum Guild International, the organisation dedicated to promoting platinum jewellery and the development of advanced technologies in the sector, confirms its support for the contest, reinforcing the dialogue between technological innovation, know-how and education.
